EP.42 Debriefing The Worthy Parts Industry Link – Auction and Expo with Michael Worthington

A new generation of miners requires a new way of approaching the mining industry, one that puts people above profit.

Each Wednesday, join Peter Finn, managing director of FACE Contracting, as he navigates the ups and downs of the industry with forward-thinking professionals from all walks of life. If you’re involved in the mining industry in anyway — whether you’re a lifer or a high school student looking to make the leap — Full Production is the perfect podcast for you.

This week’s episode features Michael Worthington of Worthy Parts, who goes over The Worthy Parts Industry Link – Auction and Expo that went on from December 3 – 4 in Kalgoorlie. The expo saw 108 different companies represented at 100 stalls. More than 500 pieces of high-tech machinery were exhibited and up for auction. On December 3 – 4, Kalgoorlie saw itself transformed as the mining industry’s biggest names came in to talk shop and greet old friends.

The event was a cracking success. If you were a part of it or curious to see what goes on behind the scene, be sure to give this episode a listen!

Michael and I talked about:

  • How Worthy Parts handled difficulties that came about during the expo
  • Highlights from seeing 2,000 members of the mining industry come to Kalgoorlie
  • My personal experience at the event
  • Lessons learned for next year
